PRAY

James 5:16 tells us that “The prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective”. Children’s prayers have the potential to be no less powerful or effective than that of an adult. We want children to be excited about praying and to expect miracles to happen when they do! We want them to see prayer as a way they can connect with their Heavenly Father and have a relationship with Him that is real, living and active. We also want them to believe in the transforming power of prayer, and the impact it can have on the lives of those around them when they believe in faith for their prayers to be answered.

OBEY

Ephesians 6:1 says, “Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. And this is the promise: If you honor your father and mother, “you will live a long life, full of blessing.”

The aim of POWERZONE is for children to be living with a strong knowledge of the Bible and a determination to obey its teachings. This is especially important in their home life as they learn to honour their parents and caregivers with an obedient heart and right attitude.

WORSHIP

Romans 12:1 tells us to “offer our bodies as living sacrifices”. That is our “spiritual act of worship” We want children to understand that worship is a lifestyle –whether they are playing, studying or relaxing, they can bring glory to God in the way they choose to live. God created us to worship him and we don’t have to wait until Sunday to do that. We can worship God 24/7!

ENJOY

For children to want to develop their faith beyond just church on a Sunday they need to enjoy it. POWERZONE aims to teach kids that their relationship with God is a privilege that they can take pleasure in and it’s FUN! As Paul said in Philippians 4:4- “Always be full of joy in the Lord” Part of the “Enjoy” aspect is teaching the children about the importance of integrating spiritual disciplines in their lives that will help them to grow in their relationship with God and have fun doing it. If children can learn to establish a regular time with God each day in prayer and in the Word while they are young it will become a habit that will last a lifetime.

REACH

Matthew 28:19 says “Go and make disciples of every nation”. Children have the ability to be fearless when telling their friends and family about their relationship with Christ. When they are given the proper tools to lead others into a relationship with Him, we believe they can be the world’s greatest evangelists. We want to see children reaching out into their schools and communities with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.
